Strand State Beach. Located 4 miles south of Coronado, Silver Strand features extensive beaches on both the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. With its mild climate and excellent surf, Silver Strand Beach is one of the area’s ultimate recreation destinations for swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, water-skiing, volleyball, and picnicking. The boardwalk is a booming scene of bicycling, rollerblading, running, and skateboarding in contrast to the hip local flavor.
